Philippines 2008

After a long journey (34 hours door to door), we made it! What a journey it was. Ben did okay for his first flights with just a little bit of Jeffrey moments. We rested in Manila the first night, and the next day made the 6 hour car ride to Grandparent's home. It's in the country (or province as they call it here), but I did find an internet cafe today in the center of the small town (Tallaoen, Luna, La Union, Ilicos Philippines). Here's a few pictures with more to come. Take care & love, Tim, Leland & Benjamin.

Benjamin's growing & changing so fast! He's becoming independent as he plays, and loves to be social as well, just like his Grandfather BWE. Ben is about to embark on his first big trip later this week. We're headed to the Philippines to meet his extended family and see his Papa Ben.

Three Generations

The Photo below represents three generations. First is Tim's father, B. Wayne Edwards (or BWE), second is Timothy Wayne Edwards (or TWE) and third is Benjamin Wayne Edwards (our baby BWE). Notice the outfit that Tim & Benjamin are wearing. This is the outfit that Tim wore home from the hospital, and Grandmother Edwards saved it over the years for lil' baby BWE to come home in the same outfit.

Welcome Home Benjamin

Mom, Dad & Baby Benjamin came home from the hospital today as scheduled. All is good, and we're now beginning the adjustment period with Leland's surgery recovery, our dog Ala, and our newborn baby in the home.

A huge thank you to everyone for your visits, support, cards, flowers, toys, emails, blog comments and phone calls. It means so much to know how much everyone cares. We are truly blessed to have you all in our lives during this precious time.

A quick update on the name for those who might not know - Leland's father is Benjamin, and Tim's father is B. Wayne (initials are BWE). BWE, pronounced BeeWee, is Tim's father's nickname. This is why we refer to our new baby as BWE, lil' BWE, Ben or Benjamin.

Of course Tim took over 400 photos during the 3 night stay in the hospital. We'll review and post some additional photos soon. Thanks again for the love and support. Now... off to change a diaper :-)

Benjamin Wayne Edwards was born at 1:05 PM ET, July 23, 2007 at 6 pounds 8 ounces, 18.7 inches.

36 Weeks Down - 2 TO GO

Today was our last sonogram. Baby's approximate weight now is 6 pounds 4 ounces and measures 40 weeks. The delivery weight is estimated at 6 1/2 to 7 pounds. The sonogram shows baby with hair too! Here's a still shot and the video. 2 MORE WEEKS TO GO!!
